"instead of prudently recognizing this reality and accepting the relatively favorable 1939 White Paper, or compromising with the Zionists, the Mufti shifted to a policy of active and futile opposition and rejection. In short, moderation during the Palestine phase and rejection during the exile phase contributed to the ultimate defeat of the Palestinians"

Stumbled upon a journal that may hold useful info for articles I intend on writing on. I would like to access the following to see if it has any info for Myrmecia (writing it in my sandbox) or other ants I am familiar with, although it is clear I can use this for one article:
"New Oligocene cyprinid in the central Tibetan Plateau documents the pre-uplift tropical lowlands"[2]
"Ciderius cooperi gen. nov., sp. nov., the earliest known euphaneropid from the Lower Silurian of Scotland" [3]
"A new lizardfish (Teleostei, Aulopiformes) from the Late Cretaceous Bearpaw Formation of Alberta, Canada, with a revised diagnosis of Apateodus (Aulopiformes, Ichthyotringoidei)"[4]
I can't seem to get this from JSTOR, which is where I found it.[5]

I would appreciate being able to view "The ankylosaurid dinosaurs of the Upper Cretaceous Baruungoyot and Nemegt formations of Mongolia". This is a paper from the Journal of the Linnaean Society, and thus is available through Wiley Online Library. The DOI is: doi:10.1111/zoj.12185. This will help me add to articles about Ankylosauridae and ankylosaurids, including the FAC Ankylosaurus. Thanks in advance,

@Huldra: Good to hear. Is there a way that you could give me the full text for page 220 or any info Scholch has for Aqil's role in the 1834 revolt? --Al Ameer (talk) 02:08, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
User:Al Ameer son: there is nothing about the 1834 revolt on those pages (or earlier), Aqil Agha is first mentioned on p. 182, saying that by the 1850´s he had the power that previously belonged to the al-Madi family (of Ijzim). On p.220 Schölch goes through the diplomatic dispatches from consuls Rogers, Finn, and others about the disturbances in the 1850s. Quoted from Finn, "Stirring times", vol 2, pp. 431 f; Thomson, "The land and the book", pp. 464 f; Rogers, "La vie domistique" (=French version of "Domestic life in Palestine")p. 453. My scanner still don´t work; will try again tomorrow, Huldra (talk) 20:27, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks. I can't find much about Aqil's activity during the revolt so if you see anything anywhere please add it to the article. As for the activity mentioned by Scholch on 220, I'll just wait until you scan it or figure out another way to make it available. It looks to be interesting.
@Pluto2012: If I am not mistaken, you are quoting from page 470. I am intersted in the previous page, the content just before that. The extract cited by NQ confirms what I wanted to see, but since it is just a blog post, I just wanted to check if there was some way I could see the text on the page itself. Thanks for your help, anyway. Kingsindian♝♚11:23, 4 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have a few requests, and wondering if anyone has access to the following sources and can help:
Cunliffe, Marcus (1956) History of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment: 1919-1955
I am looking for information that states what the 14th Battalion was up to between December 1941 and October 1942? Hopefully, it will provide some information that will help clarify the role of the 77th Infantry Division during this period: beach defense/anti-invasion duties etc. It appears the information is on 67, 69, and 71. Only a portion of 67 is available on Googlebooks, but no context is able to be gleaned.
Clowes (1956) The York and Lancaster Regiment: Sheffield, O. F. 1919-1953 / Sheffield, O. F. (1930–1956). The York and Lancaster Regiment, 1758–1953 III. Butler & Tanner. OCLC 39831761.
Starting on p. 267 is a chapter on the 11th Battalion. This battalion was part of the 76th Infantry Division during 1942 and 1943, when it was transferred to the 77th Division until July 1944. From what i can see on Googlebooks snippet view, the former is mentioned on p. 269, but little else can be seen. During its time with the 77th, the division changed from a "reserve" training unit to a "holding" division. Does this chapter provide any information that would be useful to either article to expand on the role of these two divisions, especially the "holding" aspect of the 77th?
Butler, Lewis William George (1971) The Annals of the King's Royal Rifle Corps, Volume 6
During 1943, the 10th Battalion was assigned to the division. Snippet view does not seem to show anything relevant. Does anyone have access to this source? If so, does anything explain the presumably training nature of the battalions role with the division and the 11th Army Tank Brigade?
@EnigmaMcmxc: Page 55 of The Annals of the King's Royal Rifle Corps, Volume 6 says When in autumn 1942 the American Army were preparing to move in large numbers into southern England, the Regiment's training activities began to concentrate around York. 1 M.T.B. moved to Strensall Camp, where eventually the 10th Battalion absorbed the staff and role. Fortunately Lt-Col G. E. R. C. Osborne, who had been the Chief Instructor for several years, was available to relieve Lt-Col Campbell and to preserve the continuity. Primary training was conducted at Fulford Barracks, York; with the advent of more detailed testing of entrants, recruits spent a short period badged to a General Training Corps before receiving the coveted black Maltese cross on the red ground. I've emailed you the text surrounding this passage. Aside from this, I couldn't find any mention of the 10th Battalion in this context anywhere else. Hope this helps. - NQ(talk)12:14, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can any one with a subscription to the Economist access China beat Columbus, perhaps and let me know the date of the map described and the name it gives for the Americas?
I am trying to answer this question on the Reference Desk about early Chinese names for the Americas.
The link works for me without a subscription. It says that the map is "a copy, made in 1763, of a map, dated 1418". A larger image of the map is File:1763-1418ChineseMap.jpg. The article doesn't say whether the map gives a name to the Americas; you'll need a Chinese reader to examine it. The article notes that there is controversy over which material on the map is really from 1418 rather than added in 1763. No copy of the alleged original map is known. Hello. Could someone please send me the chapter about J.W. Clapp from Sketches of Prominent Tennesseans: Containing Biographies and Records of Many of the Families who Have Attained Prominence in Tennessee by William S. Speer? I think it starts on page 40. Google Books won't load and the PDFs on archive.org are too blurry and impossible to read. I created an article about his mansion, Oakleigh (Holly Springs, Mississippi), and he served in the Confederate Congress, so I believe he should have an article. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 12:22, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It won't load the whole preview for me. I think I e-mailed you yesterday--did you not get an e-mail from me? Otherwise, let me know and I'll send another one.Zigzig20s (talk) 21:57, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Could someone please send me this article as PDF? It's not available on Jstor or Project Muse. I'm working on articles bout the co-authors. Please 'e-mail this user' and send a PDF if you can. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 01:00, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Zigzig20s: Here is my email link [22]. I can not email a file to you until you have emailed me to provide an address to send the material to. There is no way to send a file through the Email this user facility on-wiki. Sorry. JbhTalk03:01, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Could someone with access to the Americal National Biography please do me the favour of sending me through the entry for Rudolph Valentino, along with the relevant citation details the article shows (web address, etc).

I am currently working on "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom", a 1994 single by Selena. The article is in need of an update but google has a wide gap in their Billboard archives; they have the July 30, 1994 issue and the next available issue is the October 29, 1994 issue (which the song was spending its second week atop the Hot Latin Songs chart). If anyone has the issues where the song is in the article please email them to me. I am specifically looking for when the song officially made its debut on the chart and any reviews of the song prior to October 29 issue. Thanks, jona(talk)15:20, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" made its debut on the Hot Latin Songs chart on August 13, 1994, the same week that "Amor Prohibido" fell from number one. Email me and I will reply with a PDF. John M Baker (talk) 13:07, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Bangser M, Mehta M, Singer J, et al. Childbirth experiences of women with obstetric fistula in Tanzania,Ethiopia and Uganda and their implications for fistula program development. Int Urogynecol J Pelvic Floor Dysfunct 2011; 22: 91–98 (PMID20798927)
According to Obstetric fistula#Lack of quality maternal healthcare, "In Tanzania, the average cost of an emergency cesarean section is US$135, while the average annual income there is only $115", and the above citation is given, but this seems unlikely given that Tanzania states that the nominal per-capita GDP of Tanzania is $998. The paper was probably talking about the income of some particular region or group. Please email a PDF or quote the relevant section to allow me to clarify this sentence. My email address is on my user page.
I would appreciate access to "Osteology and phylogenetic relationships of Tehuelchesaurus benitezii (Dinosauria, Sauropoda) from the Upper Jurassic of Patagonia", available from Wiley here. This paper could help with the page for Tehuelchesaurus and pages on Macronaria and other subgroups.

They seem to be available from the Cambridge journal website (except the last one a dissertation), but I am afraid I do not have access to it. I would be grateful if someone could get me a copy of them. Thank you!--Rowanwindwhistler (talk) 09:51, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Just one last check in case someone has access to any of the resources before I try somewhere else which is quite more cumbersome. Nobody with access to any of the resources? Thank you!--Rowanwindwhistler (talk) 09:45, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks! I got the dissertation now, you can remove the file at your leisure. I have had no luck with the other articles yet, I tried several sources but with no luck so far. I have located several Spanish univerties which are supposed to have access to the journal, but they are hundreds of kilometers away... I thought someone would have access to the Cambridge website but it seems this is not so common after all. I see the articles are a bit long, let us see if someone has access to the pdf's, as you rightly say, too much scanning. Thanks again, much obliged!--Rowanwindwhistler (talk) 08:16, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
