I'm at a loss for how to make the draft article more objective or encyclopedic. I just now removed the only statement that I think could have been seen as original research (an observation that the fact that the subject's father virtually never spelled his surname the same way twice is a likely indication of illiteracy), but the reviewer wants a complete rewrite of an otherwise utterly objective, extensively sourced text. Every last piece of information in that article is sourced. That's because that's the only way I know anything about him. I wrote this article from scratch, but I also wrote Rufus Lumry's entry in Oxford University Press's American National Biography. Their editors hardly touched my work. Do you want an article about Rufus Lumry? Or do you just want a stub, summarizing what I wrote for Oxford University Press? 2TWarren (talk) 01:20, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2TWarren Note that writing for Wikipedia is different than other styles of writing, such as for a biography. The last line of the death section is not sourced. would suggest asking the reviewer directly for suggestions(I'm honestly not sure of the specific tone issue either), and also examining other biographies that are considered good articles to see what is being looked for. Thank you, 331dot. I could put in the citation for that last sentence and remove the section on the murder at lost grove, but I just don't want to deal with the other editors who do a drive-by of my hard work and expect me to read their minds. I have been working on a rewrite of the page Kenichi Maeyamada production discography and it's still in progress, however there's an announcement that's been alluded to that I think will end up bringing a lot of traffic to that page as a result rather soon. hi all,

I am trying to submit an article and have never done so. I spent weeks putting it together and baked it up with tons of articles and it was rejected but I cannot get specific questions answered by the editor.

I was googling around trying to figure it out and I saw that sometime people hire companies to do the articles. I assume these companies have all these confusing and seeming arbitrary things figured out. But, I thought that was not acceptable. is it acceptable to hire a professional to post an article or not? can someone let me know?

Draft:Michael Fairbanks has been declined, not rejected. You can edit it and then resubmit. It looks like you created it yesterday, that it was sent to draftspace, and that you only submitted it today, to have it declined pretty quickly; again, a decline doesn't mean the draft has been rejected. You say I cannot get specific questions answered by the editor ; do you refer to the questions you asked on your user talk page yesterday? It is not very likely that anyone will see the questions there, and 24 hours is a very short time to wait before assuming that nobody will reply. Ask your specific questions here, instead, or at the Teahouse (linked from your user talk page).
