I added references to news sources as recommended. Do you think this article would be approved at this time, or does it need more work? I won't hold you to your answer. • Per WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES, graduate schools are generally assumed to be inherently notable and therefore your article should pass, provided you can provide, via reliable sources, that it exists and actually does what you say it does. That said, neither of the two articles you quoted are particularly good examples, and generally, if you want to compare an article as an example to follow, you should look at a featured article if you can, or, failing that, at least a good article. Hello!I created an article a few days ago - Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Butyrfentanyl . It was rejected because of lack of reliable sources. But I improved it since that time, found better sources and expanded the content of the article. I would like it to be reviewed and checked again. How can I do that? Hello, I need assistance with an article I recently submitted: Articles for creation/lorenzo johnson.

I don’t understand the reviewer’s comments and need advice on how to adequately evidence the subject’s notability. This article is for a musician who is also a composer and lyricist. Many singles from his album, Things Are Looking Up, have been placed in rotation by major radio stations such as Smooth Music Radio, KPFA 94.1, WFSK 88.1, etc. He has produced and played on two Grammy nominated albums. He has produced and played on singles that have landed on Billboard’s U.S. R&B chart, Billboard Smooth Jazz chart, and Billboards Top Contemporary Jazz chart. Would adding a reference to any of these points suffice for evidence? And, could that reference simply be a link to the Billboard and Grammy sites that show this information? We need independent, reliable sources for Johnson's accomplishments: News coverage or reviews published in reputable music magazines. Your lone footnote is to a music equipment company which is more interested in selling its stuff (and using Johnson for advertisement purposes) than in providing reliable information. The UrbanMusicScene review looks like a better source, but I cannot tell whether it's just a blog or whether the reviews are subject to some sort of editorial oversight. While the Grammy and Billboard websites would be better than nothing, a third-party source taking note of Johnson's nominations would be much better still - in fact, such reliable third-party sources are what Wikipedia content should be based on, and that's not the case with your draft. For references, both. We have a citation template for books, {{cite book}}, that among other parameters also takes an URL, so you can give a Google Books link. However, the author's own books are not independent sources and thus should be avoided in favor of third-party sources when you cite sources for the article's content. In fact, that's the main reason why your submission was declined: The vast majority of your sources are associated with March one way or another, including his personal website, his university's faculty page, and plans he helped write. What we're looking for is news coverage or articles in reputable art magazines, or maybe peer-reviewed scholarly articles (written by others) discussing March's work.

it was returned because it didn't establish notability...which I'm a little confused about. He's a very well known and distinguished director in his field. I referenced a Village Voice article entirely about him and another director; and a Time Out New York article in which he's listed as one of the top directors (it's a brief list but a good one). He has two Obies which is an important off-Broadway award (it's hard to get one and two Obies is significant). Productions he has directed are listed in year end lists by the New York Times, Time Out New York. And a number of directing credits at major off Broadway and regional theaters.

So...he's very respected in his field and, more accomplished than a number of directors who HAVE been included in Wikipedia. I understand that directors can be a bit harder to pin down as accomplishers than playwrights, who tend to have entire reviews or articles written about them; I would love any advice about how to better establish importance.

I will ask the reviewer to comment here. Have you considered formatting your references to make them more clear as to what each is referring to, kind of like how the article Da Gryptions does it? Or have you spent any time looking at good articles here on Wikipedia, for example you could look at Sum 41 as an example? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 23:47, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I declined the article because Schmoll's claim to fame rests on his two awards from The Village Voice. These don't seem to be major awards and, by themselves, don't amount to conclusive proof of notability, in my opinion. A long uncited list of plays (which is the bulk of the article) doesn't help either, I'm afraid. It would help if you could provide more compelling evidence that he has been widely reviewed/written about. Maybe some more (reliably sourced) biographical information would convince a reviewer he is well known. Sionk (talk) 00:41, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
