My friend runs a Mumble (software) server and would like to be able to let people in without them knowing the password (so that they can't divulge the password to anyone else). Mumble has a certificate system to recognise registered users on a server, so we're thinking that maybe we could set Mumble to allow certified users in, as well as users with the password, but not users with neither. This [1] suggest that it is possible to do what you want, but it seems to assume that each user would have a seperate account and password. From the wording of your question, I get the feeling there is only one shared account on the server, and thus that is why you don't want to share the password?
