What is the AutoWikiBrowser User manual project?

The AWB manual project is a project maintained by the editors that use the AWB software to maintain the documentation of the AWB manual..

The AWB manual is not completely maintained by the AWB development team. The developers simply add new features, and find and fix bugs. Their energy is better spent with dealing with the software then to writing the documentation. Therefore, it relies on Wikipedia AWB software users to help maintain the manual.
AWB software users are encouraged to make changes to the manual.
If you have a better description of how a feature works, then feel free to edit the manual.

Who can contribute

Any Wikipedia editor. But preferably users of the AWB software are better suited to the task.

How do I contribute?

See something that you think could be described better or further, then feel free to edit it.

Who maintains the manual?

You. And anyone else who is interested in doing so. It's a collaboration!

Screen captures

The screen captures of AWB are maintained at Wikimedia Commons under the category AutoWikiBrowser.

The files are stored on the commons because other language Wikipedias are using the files for their languages.

Software

Any screen capture software can be used. But it should be able of saving the file in the preferred format of png.

Format

The preferred format of screen shots is .png

Naming conventions

The naming conventions for screen shots should be:

###_AWB_illustrations_for_AWB_manual.png

Where ### is replaced by the next highest number not used. You can find the next highest number by going here and simply find the next last highest numbered screen shot.

When uploading a new version of a screen shot file just go here and find the screen shot you want to replace.
