Sorry, I had to revert your addition of the Brian Jean headshot. Wikipedia policy says that we have to use freely licensed images, where such could reasonably be available. Indeed. I honestly have no idea what is meant by a freely licenses image. The image I used was definitely free use. I put it as a logo because "It will be included as that entity's primary means of visual identification, at the top of the article in question." Instead of just deleting it could you tell me what you would like me to do instead? I could find an image from a news agency, which is ALSO free use but still copywrited. How should I then list it? I honestly don't care much about this party but I don't think it's fair that there are images for all the other candidates but not this one. --Molokai I've contacted the party. What we need is a public domain image, or an image released under a licence compatible with CC BY-SA 3.0 or GFDL. The image in question violates WP:FU's section, "Meeting the no free equivalent criterion." What I'm trying to say is that we need a freely-licensed image, we cannot rely on fair-use in this case. As to the licensing, that's not going to be relevant for any appropriate image in this case, but the problem with using the 'logo' license is that the image wasn't a logo. So, in summary, we need a public domain or freely-licensed image. We cannot apply fair-use (as per Wikipedia's policies, not as per the law), which means we cannot take an image from a news agency or some such. I agree it's a problem that he's the only candidate without a picture, but there's nothing stopping the Wildrose from releasing an image to the public domain, nor is there anything stopping people from taking a photo of him from one of his numerous appearances, and releasing it freely. I'm really surprised this hasn't happened yet. Also, please note that Wikipedia's fair-use policy is one of the more confusing bits of Wikipedia bureaucracy, but it really is there for a good rason. --Yamla (talk) 11:07, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! It was very confusing. So it seems emailing the party for a public domain image is what I need. I was also surprised someone from their campaign hadn't done that already but who knows, people are weird.
