Unsigned generator is a user script, which automatically produces wikitext for Template:Unsigned or Template:Unsigned IP on pages of diffs and permalinks. This script is useful for cases when User:Andrybak/Scripts/Unsigned helper doesn't find the correct link.

1. Locate an unsigned comment
2. Find the correct diff or permalink for the chosen unsigned comment. Use the following tools to help:
   • WikiBlame
   • Extension:RevisionSlider aka "Browse history interactively"
3. On the diff's/permalink's page, click the link "Unsigned gen" in the sidebar "Tools" (Vector 2022) or menu "More" (Vector 2010)
4. Copy the code which appears in a text field just below tabs and "<page title>: Difference between revisions"

• User:Andrybak/Scripts/Unsigned helper – a companion script for automatic adding of Template:Unsigned and Template:Unsigned IP. Unsigned generator is helpful, when one of caveats of the companion script come into play.
• User:Enterprisey/diff-permalink.js or User:Enterprisey/diff-permalink-2.js – a script to generate diff links and permalinks.
• Wikipedia:WikiBlame – a tool for searching the revision history of a page to identify the revision which introduced particular text to the page.
