I'd like to consider changing the text of this template to read:-
"This image has source information, but it either links directly to the image or is a generic base URL, is not an Internet source for an image that was likely found on the Internet, or is a screen capture obtained from an unofficial source.
Better source information should be provided so that the copyright status can be verified by others. It is requested that a better source be provided to make determination of the copyright information easier. Please provide a URL to an HTML page that contains this image. See Wikipedia:Citing sources#Images for more information."
This is so that the template and the associated request it makes is also able to cover screenshot's obtained from forums/You Tube etc..

This template does not appear to be backed by policy. The entire Citing Sources page does not discuss images, and all the ones I have found do not specify whether the source is the page or the file. Wikimedia Commons does this, but we don't. — trlkly 08:29, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Citing sources#Images does not exist at this time. --Itu (talk) 11:50, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
