Welcome to wikipedia! Thank you for your contribution! The article currently does not make clear what is notable about this algorithm. Have a look here about notability. Currently it appears to promote a set of academic papers. Mootros (talk) 15:58, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This article is telling what Inclusive composite interval mapping algorithm is. And it also shows the usages and advantages of Inclusive composite interval mapping algorithm in different QTL Mapping research areas. I believe this part is enough to show how notable the algorithm is. A typical software implementation of this algorithm is also mentioned. The FAQ part covers the popular questions to this algorithm.
The papers are referenced to show the reliable original sources of the content.
As reviewing administrator, I think the article isn't exclusive or even primarily promotional, but it needs to be rewritten in a more concise and encyclopedic fashion, with a little more background, and references to work from other research groups. . The Q & A format in particular is not acceptable, and the article gives the general impression of being copied form something published elsewhere . As for notability, the method would be notable not merely because it got published, but that other research groups working in the general field have made use of it and cited it. Get citation counts to the key papers from Web of Science, and add the numbers. Give a specific mention of it from some paper by another group referring to it a a now standard method. response I have revised ICIM thoughtly, and tried to satisfy the criterion of Wiki. The major revison was listed as follows:
1. delete the FAQ part;
2. add several applications of this method in wheat, rice, maize, etc;
