Hi!

At Wikibooks we have some templates that automatically generate lists of chapters for our books (for things like Print versions and navigation), and we are trying to use it also to generate the collections. The problem is that, although our template generates a list with the same syntax used by the extension, the extension doesn't expand the templates, and so we get an empty collection when the "automatic collection" is loaded (http://pt.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Book/load_collection/&colltitle=Project:Livros/Budismo&uselang=en)

It would be very very nice to have this template expansion, because then our users wouldn't need to create any duplicated lists. Helder 18:28, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

A description of the cover (image) may be very useful for some books, especially considering printed media that lacks the possibility of clicking an image for a description. For reference, I had Book:Citrus in mind, "Orange tree (left), limes (top right) and a flower of a grapefruit tree (bottom right)". Could this feature be incorporated into the {{Saved book}}? I'm willing to add the feature to the template if there's no objections, but someone with the user rights to edit the pdf parser would need to take over from there whenever there's time to add such a feature. jonkerz♠ 13:32, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Either in the template, or hidden (on the web). As said, this is more important in printed media, where it preferably is located in the very beginning of the book. I've seen this and use to look for such information on the same page as the copyright symbol and "printed in" text usually goes, right before the book actually begins. I may be wrong, but isn't this commons use in printed books? I haven't been out in the real world in a while, so I don't know ;) jonkerz♠ 14:38, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

I plucked this of the Usability feedback page.

When I tried to download the article as a pdf (which *is* a nice option), the viewing page shifted to a 'Rendering" page with no info or connection to the page I had just left, which was disconcerting and confusing to say the least, and then a 'rendering finished' page....with a mild uninformative note that announced "The document file has been generated. Download the file to your computer." without any notification of the article name that was 'rendered'. I've *never* seen a pdf generated in this fashion, and it was so generic in terms of information that I was afraid that you had generated a pdf of the 'rendering...' page. I don't understand this interface at all, and it really needs to be reconsidered and reconfigured to be less off-putting and confusing.

Try rendering a PDF from a Wikipedia book for this article M+_Fonts. The title contains a superscript plus character with is rendered as such in the PDF. Please investigate and fix this issue. SvGeloven (talk)

North American users print on 8.5-inch by 11-inch paper. The PDF files are generated for European-sized paper. This will result in undesirable scaling when printing in North America.

I found an issue in PDF for Nonomino article. Please see section "Packing and tiling". Two pictures ('Jigsaw Sudoku puzzle' and 'nonominoes with holes') overlap in PDF, but not in web browser. Andreas Kaufmann (talk) 19:49, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

I may be posting this in the wrong place, but I can find absolutely no information about how to delete a book that I created and saved in my User space. (i.e. User:Davealexander/Books/book name ) Can we only modify, but not delete, books that we create and save? Davealexander (talk) 14:20, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

You can delete any page in your userspace by placing {{db-u1}} on it (i.e edit the book as you would normally edit a page, and replace the content with {{db-u1}}). Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 14:24, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
