desktop background is too big for screen. While I was viewing a screen, the background suddenly shrank to the middle of the screen. When I re-booted, in an attempt to solve the problem, The background became to large to fit the screen, and the icons were scattered around the edges. How do I re-size desktop background to fit screen?

The icons went from small to large and the background picture was too large to fit on the screen. I was able to adjust the size of the icons to Small, which fixed that part of the problem; however, nothing I have tried fixes the problem. I have changed the resolution from the recommended (1366 x 768) to smaller resolutions--no change.

Try tapping F8 at startup, and from the list of startup selections, select Safe Mode by using UP Arrow Key to go there > then hit Enter. Try a System Restore once there, to pick a Restore Point before your problem.. Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System tools > System Restore > pick a different time > Next > etc
